Solar Engineer

 

SOLAR ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY:


We are seeking a Solar Installer to join our team. Our ideal candidate has excellent physical stamina for lifting and mounting solar panels on our clients' roofs and knows how to use power tools for constructing the framing of the panels and configuring the wiring. On more extensive construction programs, you may be responsible for managing work crews, so leadership skills are a plus. You must have a background in a field like roofing or any systems that use electricity. General construction experience is also acceptable.


SOLAR ENGINEER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Reviewing and preparing technical and non technical reports to a high standard including specifications, reports, proposals, calculations and contracts
  • Actively assisting with business development and client management
  • Attending client and site visits as required (UK and overseas)
  • Carrying out technical assessments
  • Provides key project monitoring decisions
  • Assist the sales staff to screen and qualify the feasibility of energy efficiency and Solar PV opportunities
  • Develop, define and dimension technically and economically feasible applications by performing preliminary engineering/design, project metering and measurements of critical parameters
  • Conduct feasibility studies for both ground mounted and roof mounted solar PV projects
  • Possess knowledge on rebate application process NYSERDA
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for part production and quality


SOLAR ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 2+ years of commercial PV system design, permitting, construction, commissioning and O&M
  • Experience in providing technical support energy-related projects with accountability for project performance and design
  • Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system design and optimizing system components for energy production
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and structural design components and manufacturers
  • Experience in value engineering of photovoltaic or other constructions projects
  • Good working knowledge of standard utility process for interconnection approval and design requirements

Solar Installer

Electrical Foreman


ELECTRICAL FOREMAN JOB SUMMARY:


We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced construction foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers at our numerous construction sites. As the liaison between workers and supervisors, the foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses, permits, and employee safety. The ideal applicant will have a solid background in the field, strong leadership skills and the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. The construction foreman must be well-organized and strongly focused on safety above all and at all times.


ELECTRICAL FOREMAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites at all times
  • Produce work schedules in accordance with the availability of employees, contractors and labor laws and monitor the attendance of crew
  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and contractors.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, manage and train employees and contractors
  • Provide for adequate resources and staffing to meet safety needs, regulations, best practices, laws and project schedule
  • Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures
  • Develop and oversee quality standards on all sites
  • Monitor and manage project budgets on all sites
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably
  • Report project status to supervisors, site engineers and officials regularly


ELECTRICAL FOREMAN REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or certification in a electrical trade
  • 4+ years' experience as a electrical foreman
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical best practices, equipment maintenance, and use, and OSHA guidelines
  • Understanding of use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Fluency in English; Spanish a plus

Electrical Journeyman

 

ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN JOB SUMMARY:


We have an immediate opening for an experienced and reliable Journeyman Electrician. You will join our team of highly-skilled electricians to install, repair, and maintain a variety of electrical systems, including electrical panels, lighting, motor controls, and conveyor systems. All of our staff are familiar with installing power supply wiring and troubleshooting both commercial and residential types of electrical components. Our ideal candidate has at least five years of professional experience, a current electrician’s license, and a flexible schedule.


ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Respond to service calls quickly and within the expected timeframe
  • Discuss the customer’s request for repairs or installation and provide estimates for cost and timeline
  • Follow specifications on blueprints or technical drawings for installations
  • Perform routine maintenance on various systems as requested
  • Conduct all repairs and installations according to code
  • Notify client immediately if the plan needs to be adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances


ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current journeyman electrician license
  • 5+ years of experience as an electrician; extensive experience in both commercial and residential work a plus
  • Able to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams and follow specifications
  • Solid working knowledge of commercial and residential electrical systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must have your own set of tools and safety gear
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent customer service skills

Electrical Apprentice

 

ELECTRICAL APPRENTICE JOB SUMMARY:


Our team seeks an Electrician Apprentice to learn on-the-job under the supervision of a journeyman electrician. The apprenticeship will teach you how to assess and repair electrical problems on commercial or residential job sites. As an Electrician Apprentice, you will complete both hands-on projects on job sites and coursework in a classroom setting. To start, your duties will include basic cleaning and maintenance tasks and progress to more skill-based tasks as you gain experience. You may need to register your apprenticeship or apply for a license if our state requires it.


ELECTRICAL APPRENTICE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions
